From butter yellow to olive green, these are the trending colours that are making their mark on this autumn’s colour palette.

The trending colours for autumn-winter 2026/2027

2026 looks set to be the year of colour. Black and white remain, of course, the non-negotiable staples of our wardrobe, but the colour palette for autumn/winter 2026/2027 is clearly taking on a livelier and more optimistic tone.

This season’s catwalks, however, suggest a different direction. Without abandoning timeless basics, colour is making a strong comeback and has become one of the easiest ways to refresh even the simplest outfits. A bold accessory, a colourful jumper or a coat in an unexpected shade are all it takes to completely transform the look of your autumn wardrobe.

These are the colours we’re likely to see everywhere over the coming months.

Butter Yellow

If you thought butter yellow was only for the sunnier months, you were wrong. Having taken spring and summer by storm, this shade proves it can also thrive in the cold, bringing a touch of brightness even to the gloomiest days of the season.

Green: the unexpected new neutral

If we had to pick a colour that we know we’ll be seeing all the time in street style, it would probably be this one. From olive green to the most saturated shades, Balenciaga, Loewe, Chloé and Anna Sui have shown that it goes with almost everything.

Aubergine: the season’s unexpected colour

If chocolate brown was the undisputed star last year, this autumn the aubergine is reclaiming its place. Because if we had to bet on one colour that suits almost everyone, it would be this one. The most accessible yet sophisticated alternative to black.

And if you’re still not convinced, think of it as the new burgundy: just as elegant, but with a more unexpected twist. The result is a colour that elevates any outfit and is bound to find its way into your wardrobe.

Blue: from navy blue to electric blue

Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Victoria Beckham, Jil Sander and Chloé all share the same concept: colour is worn from head to toe. From more complex shades to almost electric tones, the common thread is the intensity they bring to minimalist looks. A monochrome look thus gains character and dynamism, without the need for extra styling or complicated combinations.
